Astronef Modern is a redesign of the 1960’s typeface “Astronef” by Jean Alessandrini. Jean wanted to create type that was as exotic as possible. Astronef means spacecraft in French, and the Voyager mission was originally launched the year after the design of his typeface. What better way to showcase Astronef Modern than a curatorial event that invites people to contribute the things they deem representative of humanity just like they did back then?
