Wintersession 2019 Figure Modeling Marathon, RISD. iProject, "Man with Teeth." Human head to scale, on top of cast of skull from the Edna Lawrence Nature Lab. Initially an attempt at a forensic reconstruction, but for the sake of the figure modeling class I was advised to take a more artistic approach, although the science informed the artistic choices (Skull originates from a caucasian male, its fusion suggesting middle-age. The nose, according to the nasal spine of the skull, is slightly downturned and the skull is not symmetrical). I make no claim that this is an accurate forensic reconstruction, nor a contribution to a scientific endeavor, as it was made for a sculpture class focusing on art and gesture alone. I sculpted the teeth from epoxy putty.
