I designed these labels for Invivo Spirits. They are a family-owned local business in Vienna, offering a wide variety of brandies, spirits, gin and whisky. Most of their products are produced in very small batches, and most important to the client was that they have a memorable branding that carries across most of their products. I decided to blend two styles for this project, the well-known art style of Vienna "Jugendstil," a variant Art Nouveau that permeates the city in it's art and architecture, and a more colorful, playful and modern clean-line illustration for the focal point of the label. The green color is widely used throughout the city, and the fruits and vegetables pop off the background and look delicious in contrast to the muted but consistent surrounding.

Compared to the industry standard design for this category of product, these products stand out. The industry has opted for a more "serious" look, lots of white or black labels with minimal design and typography. It's hard to convince people of the fresh fruit flavors in your product when it looks like a gravestone. Consumer response has been excellent!
