Modern Slot UX/UI
Business Value
Universal and modern interface - saving money and time to release the game and allow to invest saved funds into the game performance and its features improvement.

The user-friendly interface increases the loyalty of players, users become accustomed to one UI pattern in games, are less stressed and reduce the risk of leaving the game.

Problem
1) Slot game UI is outdated, not clear and inconvenient to use on mobile devices, this leads to the loss of players.
2) Custom UI for every game is more time consuming and more expensive to produce.
Goal
Simple, universal interface for slot games, which will save production time and game performance, will be intuitive for players and works well on all devices. Should have the ability to be quickly customised.
Notes
It is a fast and universal game solution.
All the buttons, icons can be customly drawn due to the game style, it depends to the availability of development time and resources.

Desktop UI
Main Screen
Autospin settings. Icon colour indicates that autospin menu is open.
Bet settings
Menu
The Spin Button and icons can be easily modified according to the game type or to save extra space for reels.
Text fields can be shifted (depends how big is the number).
Example with changes, below:
Tooltips are displayed automatically when players hover the pointer over an icon, and removed when players click the button or move out the mouse.

A short look "behind the scenes". Process.
Everything started with the research, communicating with the team and players, reviewing best UX practices, and coming up with some raw wireframes/ideas before the prototyping stage.

From the basic discovery:
Navigation should be placed in the reachable zone. Here are a few images:

Usability Feature:
The mobile landscape UI switches quickly to "Left Hand" mode.
First fast and ugly sketches on the go XD
We played and tested many slot games to define which slot interfaces are convenient for the players and which are not. It's important to identify what you can borrow from the industry leaders and what you can improve or avoid.

As for UI visual side, I was looking for products that are often used by players in daily life and well tested by other designers.
Also, it was crucial to make a UI solution, which will suit perfectly different games (different styles, colors, etc.).

For example, Youtube player works well on different video backgrounds (light, dark, colorful).
Here is one of the mood boards:
So far we end up with a simple UI that has all the needed functionality, suits all the games, saves dev time (and cost), and is convenient for our players.
Problem solved, but there is always a window for improvements, updates, and usability observation.

Thank you for your attention! :)
