This is an embossing project I created for school. I drew the pattern out on my iPad using a vector program making the transition to illustrator simple. Once the process of creating my own custom embossing plate was complete the end product was a buff colored paper with a cool textured pattern pressed into encouraging the viewer to touch and run their fingers over the paper feeling every curve.

I then sent my design to the lasor cutter and had them cut the shapes out on three separate sheets of mat board. I then peiced the peices back together gluing the first layer down to an uncut sheet of matt board. I stacked the three layers taking away pieces strategically placed to add dimension to the design. Once all pieces were glued down I glued various textures to a few of the pieces such as lace, fishnet and dirt.

Once everything that had been glued down dried completely I sprayed a single coat of spray adhesive to the board and carefully layed a sheet of aluminum foil over the top and ran it through the print press three times creating an embossing plate with great textures.
