#HerArtHere
United Airlines posted a graphic/illustration art challenge to promote women's art in live spaces.
Her Art Here Mission, "We're dedicated to getting more women off the ground, and we want to aim even higher. We've worked with Women in Aviation, a nonprofit organization which provides networking, education, mentoring and scholarship opportunities, for more than 25 years, and we support Girls in Aviation Day to ensure there's more representation for women pilots in the future. Our mission is connecting people and uniting the world, and #HerArtHere allows us to connect women artists to the audience they deserve: the world" (Her Art Here, 2019).

This image is the United Airline Style Guide design guideline (Her Art Here, 2019).
Design Solution: This project features the California Region. The foundation background pattern is a modified and simplified topographical map of California. The purpose was to fill the negative space with a pattern that represents California without distracting from the featured imagery. Also, the flowing lines of the topographic map eludes to the areo dynamics that provide lift to the aircraft.

The featured imagery consists of five iconic world renowned women who called California home and represent five different artistic industries. Each women is know for their expertise in their respected fields. The women span seven generation of women as a nod to the "7's" in the 757 Model. The choice of five women is a nod at the "5" in the 757 Model. Additionally, each woman is wearing a head-coverings to represent the multiple hats/roles women wear/undertake in their lives.
