The poster is in keeping with the film's colorful production design, which tempers the film's darker topics like suicide, child abuse and covert sex trade. The handpainted design--acrylic on the photo itself--is based on wallpapers, costumes and tiles used in the film. Handwritten type was used to make it stand out when displayed alongside other indie film posters which mainly use digital type. I also shot the film stills from which the poster image is taken from.
