The 80s original
under Meuble El Chark
The Process
The idea was to make it much lighter, much thinner, but keep the angled seat and back due to ther extreme comfortability.

The first thing that was done was changing the wood back and seat from massive into bent pressed plywood sheets, to shape easier, and allow more variations for the slit design using CnC.
The bulky leg connection was slanted to allow the back to rest on it, we face the showing nail problem, to be solved later on.
Several angles, with slanted legs to give a lighter feeling like it is tiptoeing, but tons of connections raise stability and weight pressure issues to be fixed.
And ... chopsticks
Worked on the seamless connections, then hiding the seamless connections with the wood slits.
It can work with a comfy cushion, notice the floating seat side view.
