In collaboration with the Hirshhorn's exhibition and curatorial staff, Christine Lefebvre Design developed the graphics for Baselitz: Six Decades. CLD designed the entrance wall treatment, didactic and timeline graphics, and an exterior poster advertising the exhibition.

ENTRANCE After rounds of design explorations that played on the idea of "upside-down" (the artist was known for his "inverted" paintings), the museum chose to proceed with a direct type treatment for the title. The title treatment and entrance didactic used white and almond vinyl, and the walls were painted a brownish-burgundy, to coordinate with the paintings within the first gallery.
DIDACTICS Eight texts introduced sections within the exhibition. Each included a quotation from the artist to add a layer of interpretation.
TIMELINE The exhibition was arranged chronologically, and a timeline appeared in two spots. The timeline included events from the artist's life and relevant world events. Timeline graphics were direct-printed to panels that had been painted the same white as the gallery walls.
