The nest of birds - Cambodia

I met Dan Rivers,  photographer, an inspirational guy.
He's on a mission and invited me along..
Home.

Residence from the nest of birds, Phnom Penh were relocated four years ago.  They lived in a shanty town close to the river front, a thriving development area in-front of Nagaworld, Phnom Penh's casino.  Sure the area needed to be tidied up.  It was known as shotgun alley, where the police would go drink, go have fun with there guns.  These people were relocated to the outskirts of the city onto low value land with no paperwork, just beyond developed land, nice place those $100,000 homes..

Hey look our new home.. who we going to trade with here???..  keep smiling..

Our new home is a built on a lake, water every where.  The pipe work you see is for drainage.  The officials promised drainage and to fill in the land, some has been done, some has not, we've been here four years.

On my visits the water was low, only a few inches over their ground floor, thats inside their homes.  When it rains this can rise to half a meter...

Victory!
Inspirational...

The constant contact with this water causes problems.  Dan is on a mission to make people aware.  He wants to help, he thinks nothing of stocking up on creams and medication for these people.  More in-depth information on his blog -
