The 4 i's stand for Innovation, Integration, Incubation and Implementation.

The lab is a central facility for concept design and product realization. The processes of design, simulation and manufacturing are integrated in a digital environment. The facility also serves the professional course requirements of students of various streams. It also provides infrastructure for sponsored research and industrial consultancy.

The 4i lab houses state of the art CAD and CAM tools with latest capabilities in shape aquisition, modeling and prototyping. They have helped in radically expanding the domain of geometric shapes that can be realized for any product

Actual logo:

The bulb here symbolises INNOVATION. The gear and IC stands for IMPLEMENTATION whereas, their presence inside a single bulb signifies INTEGRATION of various components of the idea. The two hands stand for support and nourishment of the idea, i.e., INCUBATION. The four i-shaped light rays represent 4i Labs.
