This was a project for my graphic design course at SFU. I worked with teammates Kiana Sousae and Thanh Truong to create a hypothetical print design for an article about seventies icons and their impact on music today.
Above shows my sketches and planning for the project. We played with many different layouts before we settled on our final layout.
This is our first draft for the first page of the three page spread. Although we liked this design, we chose to change the photo and therefore change the layout to create balance within the spread.
After finalizing our photos, we designed this spread. We chose to format the spread horizontal because we wanted a unique art direction but when we asked if it would be accepted for marks, our TA said they are looking for a vertical layout.
