8-Page Booklet
Reader's Spread
This eight-page booklet was created for a project in my graphic reproduction class in Adobe InDesign. All the photos used in this booklet was taken by me with a Cannon EOS Rebel SL1 DSLR. The color I used throughout the booklet is from the color in the Spartanburg Community College logo (C-99,M-86,Y-10, K-2) as well as tints. As for the fonts, I used ATC Laurel Bold and ATC Onyx. I got the text from paperwork that was received from the coordinator of student disability services. The notepad was designed in Adobe Illustrator. The hands seen on page 4 of the booklet represent the word “interpreter” in sign language. That photo was actually taken with a camera, transferred to the computer then image traced in Illustrator. The tape recorder and laptop used a clipping mask technique in Adobe Photoshop. All the photos used were edited in Photoshop as well.
Printer's Spread
Once all the pages were created in Adobe Indesign, I created a printer's spread on a 8.5x11 with .25 inch margins. Once the document was created, I brought in the pages and placed them where they needed to be. When all the pages were placed in the correct positions, I exported the file as a pdf for print. The pdf file was taken to another computer that sets up the digital press for a print run.
