NEIGHBORHOOD IDENTITY
The following collages were a series of collages made as a part of neighbourhood research conducted as part of a bigger project. All four different neighborhoods; Simonetta, Isola, Monumentale, Derganino, are situated in the north-west part of Milan.

Each collage represents the majority demographic residing in the particular neighbourhood, its landmarks and the vibrancy of the place depending on the type of events being held in the space, represented through the colors.
SIMONETTA

Simonetta is a peaceful and calm neighbourhood mainly populated by elderly people. It serves as a campus to one of the best music schools in the country, that is housed within a mansion. Periodically, orchestra and music events are held in the neighbourhood, adding a little melody and spirit to the place.
The colors in the first collage, plays on the contrast of a muted, dark green and the baby pink, representing the contrast of teenagers, and elderly people co-existing in the same space. While the blue and yellow in the second collage, focus on the aspects of vibrancy brought in with students and the melody from the school at the same time shows an old man looking at this vibrancy of the institute.
MONUMENTALE
Houses one of the biggest cemetery grounds within the city of Milan, where the Christian church takes precedence, followed by the representation of the setting sun. The contrast between negatives and the real buildings is meant to bring out the two dimensions: reality, and what's beyond, as a representation of what a cemetery really represents. The negatives also bring out an eeriness, a feeling commonly felt in burial grounds.
ISOLA
Isola is a relatively young neighbourhood, housed by young couples and new families. It is a lively place, and a popular point of attraction for young adults since has a range of family restaurants and bars.
DERGANINO/VALTELLINA

Derganino is a corporate neighbourhood with a lot of offices and corporate buildings. Alcatraz, a famous nightclub is attracts a lot of nightime activity. Thus the neighbourhood has a stark contrast between its daytime and night time atmosphere.
