Microsoft had launched Windows 7 to much consumer fanfare.
Following the debacle of Windows Vista, businesses around the world were clamouring of the update.
The Challenge:
The issues facing businesses of all sizes was migrating all their employees to this new OS. And doing so efficiently, effectively and with minimum downtime. While Dell offered a range of services and consulting solutions, few businesses knew that such support was available from a company they saw as ostensibly a hardware supplier. We needed to get the word out. Our target was IT managers and business decision makers.
Oh, and it had to work globally.

The Solution:
We devised a simple video narrative to tell the story of "the great migration." We needed a strong visually driven story, so it would work across cultures. And as we wanted to highlight the potential problems faced -- we needed to present them in an empathic, non-threatening way -- we felt a gentle humour would achieve this best.
We recorded voice-overs in five languages: English, French, German, Japanese and Mandarin. We also tweaked the animation timing and on-screen typography to optimize the message in each language.
The video was housed and promoted on the various Dell.com sites. We made it embeddable and portable - allowing it to be referenced on video sharing sites as well as blogs and Dells' social media properties.
