PSA Posters: Mental Health Awareness

PSA Posters, Mental Health Awareness
For this project we were asked to complete three Public Service Announcement campaign posters. We were able to come up with the public issue, and with the plethora of issues I have a passion for (education, arts in schools, human trafficking), I decided to go with Mental Heath Awareness, something I'm personally been affected by.
The mental illness that is the inspiration for the posters is depression. The symbolism of broken people is literally a part of the poster and came about organically. I know people wonder why the mentally ill subject is the brightest color and not black. The reason is because I want the viewer to see her. I want someone suffering to see this poster to see themselves as important enough to be noticed and not feel alone in their struggles. Like what the poster says, "Don't let them feel alone."

PSA posters can make people notice issues that they wouldn't normally pay attention to. I was so happy with the results of these posters and hope my classmates take a moment and reach out to someone suffering from depression/anxiety/any other mental ailment not seen to the world.
