This four roomed 191 m2 apartment is located in the center of Saint-Petersburg on Krestovsky island in the residential complex “Krestovsky De luxe”. The owners are active and young couple who admires to travel and is open minded to everything new especially what comes to the new interior solutions.
The main request from them was to create a spacious and functional space with many storage unins maximally hidden and integrated to the interior design concept. The task was to organize home office, master bedroom, combined living room and kitchen area, teens room and three walk in wardrobes. In order to reorganize the space from three rooms to four we had to reorder the initial flat planning.
The main idea of the interior is taken from minimalism style philosophy with its plane forms and constructive solutions.
Neutral grey palette dominates the interior. Concrete and granite textures that seem to be cold and non-living from the first glance give the interior the monumental feeling and brutal character.
The main goal of DE&DE designers was to create an interior with a strong character where decorative details are less important. But still noticable: decorative glass construction in the master bedroom, decorative wooden wall panels in the living and hall entrance area and decorative plaster with concrete texture.
It is worth to pay an extra attention to the brands used for interior design of this flat. Kitchen is represented by well-known Italian brand “Modulnova”, with its extremely practical island that is used as an extra storage unit. In addition to this kitchen has coplanar doors what is considered to be one of the latest kitchen trends. Big modular “Flexform” sofa called “Groundpiece” is truly number one at its comfort and style takes a center place of the living room interior composition. Dining area is represented by B&B Italia brand, namely with the most popular model- “Husk” chairs. Bed and lounge chair in the living room are made by “Arketipo”. Sophisticated design make them look like art objects themselves and take a place in minimalistic atmosphere.
Concerning lighting, designers had a task to light up the interior properly but make it look discrete as much as it’s possible. That’s why it was decided to plan numerous lighting scenarios based on technical track systems, integrated spots and suspension light. For these purposes “Centrsvet” brand was chosen that specializes on technical light and is known as known as a company of the most innovative light solutions.
