Branding & Package Design

Dahlia is a company created to show the consumer different ways to wear their new scarf. The company will have various scarf styles and each insert will show three possible ways to where that style of scarf. The contents of the product contain the scarf and the insert.
The challenge for this project was to create a packaging that would help the product stand out. The goal was to move from the traditional scarf on a hanger and present product by showing the pattern of the scarf and the material through a die cut opening. The hope is that buyer will not have to open the box to know the type of scarf that is in it. The package will just sit upright on a shelf and the colors of the outside of the box (the pink) would change depending on the type of scarf that is on the inside. This is to prevent confusion of buying a style the consumer may not want, so they will notice that the outside color is different and can easily figure out the difference by the name of the scarf on the front of the package. For example the oversized square scarf comes in a package with pink detail whereas an infinity scarf will come in a package with blue detail color. The brand logo color (pink flower with brand name) would not change from product to product.
The name Dahlia was chosen because of the meaning behind it. A dahlia is flower grown in Mexico and one of its various meanings is "to be unique" or "stand out" which serves as a tagline for the company. The desire for this company is to show the audience that their scarf can be worn in so many different ways that can help them stand out and show their personal uniqueness.
