Part of the 3 person show 'Not to be missed' at Sanat Gallery
For those who have read the book, how strange and captivating were Lord Henry's words from the Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde? They were dangerous, yet rang true in so many ways. As Dorian's personality developed under Lord Henry's influence, and Basil experienced complex feelings about Dorian and his transformation, Wilde narrated these instances with sharp wit and an unabashed truthfulness. Sadly, some of Wilde's original paragraphs had to be softened or altered when the book was published since it was thought to be too bold for its time (the late 19th Century).
For the show, I compiled some of these spellbinding quotes with accompanying mementos and objects in a vintage photo album.
