Illustrated Book Covers

I redesigned two book-cover as a part of my Illustration for Communication course at Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology.

.The first book-cover I redesigned was
Creative Confidence by Tom Kelly and David Kelly
Creative Confidence is a book about the creative potential in each one of us and how we can successfully tap into it. For the book cover I decided to play around with shadows because, like creativity, everyone has a shadow. However, you can only see your shadow if there is light. I imagined this book as the "light" that helps your realize your own creative potential.

The second book I redesigned was
Seeing Like a Feminist by Nivedita Menon

Through my illustration, I have tried to visualize the title of the book in context to what Nivedita Menon has written. The word "Seeing" has been censored to comment on the unfair restrictions and bans that had been and still are being imposed on women all over the globe. The black strip running across the cover represents a blindfold that is gradually disappearing which symbolizes the transformation in society and the rising awareness of issues related to women's rights.
Both redesigns are purely hypothetical and are not sponsored by the author or publication house.
