CONCERT FOR THE KIMBERLEY

The Concert for the Kimberley was produced by John Butler and The Wilderness Society in 2012. It brought together more than 6,000 people at Federation Square and thousands more via live screening sites all around Australia. Its purpose was to raise awareness about the threat posed by the mining industry to The Kimberley Region, one of the most beautiful, unique and culturally significant places on Earth.

MLB was asked to design an identity for the concert that represented the beauty of the Kimberley and the wildlife that lives there. We created a design that resonated with the Wilderness Society’s core community but also spoke to the wider Generation X & Y audience. We then rolled that identity out across posters, event tickets, large-scale banners, t-shirts and motion graphics. We like to think of this whale tail as being the bat-signal for the environmentally aware.
