Umbrella Light, a light based on movement
The Umbrella light was created for the Illuminating Shadows the IES lighting competition of 2011. This Light can be opened or closed to control the amount of light that is visable. The paper folds of the light also open and close to create different patterns of light.
The Umbrella Light has an interior structure similar to an umbrella. This allows the light to open and close
The Light shade and stand can be easily dissassembled. The light shade can also be folded to take up less room. in order to conect the shade to the stand, the shade has two snap connections on the top and bottom.
the user can open or close the light by pushing a small disk up or down the center pole. This forces the light shade to compress or decompress.
