Adobe Jenson Pro Type Specimen

Adobe Jenson Pro is based off of the typeface made by Nicholas Jenson (the father of Roman type) in 1470. It was redrawn for Adobe in 1993. I did research to capture the history of the face and highlight its best qualities. Renaissance typesetting and title pages of old books offered a lot of inspiration. The inner spread shows off body copy and compares the styles and optical sizes through elegant typesetting. The poster dissects the type anatomy and exhibits the display sizes. I chose an excerpt from The Canterbury Tales for my text because it was something I imagine would have been being printed in 1470.
