“The 1000 ml” is addressed to solve problems occurring to refugees, people migrating in difficult conditions and victims of natural disasters. The main problem which they are struggling with are the lack of access of drinkable water and food, outdoor sleeping as well as long distance walk and carrying belongings in nonfunctional plastic bags.
Problem with access to drinkable water is solved by humanitarian organisation by building and overhauling wells and other water tanks. They provide hygiene and water package from accumulated fund.
The tents are build from waterproof canvas and the blankets are given to assurance protection for necessitous.
1. Protection from changing weather conditions
2. Easier acces to drinkable water
3. Help in carrying belongings
4. Small weight and compact size
5. Durability and cheap implementation costs
The design process began from simple question - “how to deliver a drinkable water for those in need?”. After research I decided to use water purification tablets, where one tablet can purify 1000 ml of water. Therefore I decided that it will be perfect size for bottle I used in my project. The next step was to combine two different elements - jacket and backpack - to create one piece of cloth. Piece that will be universal for anyone by coming in one size.
A backpack jacket is made of impregnated weatherproof fabric. To serve as immediate aid for those in need: offering basic outer garment, facilitated luggage-carrying and
easy access to clean water. The backpack jacket is packed in a bottle which, when emptied, can be used for storing water or food or as a container to purify contaminated water (the set includes tablets to make the water fit for consumption).
The set contains a backpack jacket, a bottle and a blister pack of 10 tablets.
