In the last couple of weeks I've been keep trying to combine a 3D pipeline with an oilpainted render effect (in Blender).
The perfect candidate for this experimentation was a castle emerging from the clouds; a really fantasy subject whic I've modeled in Blender and rendered in Cycles.
My friend and colleague Luca De Felice also worked with me in the making of a looping GIF!
He took care about the animations while I rendered and composited the frames into an actual GIF.

The render of the still-image was done using Cycles (2.79) and took ~5minute to complete.
The render of the GIF (which is 300frames circa) took ~3hours to get done, and the post-production was made both in Photoshop and Premiere.
