A Peruvian Wonderland
A Peruvian Wonderland
This was the concept I made for my studio project in my second year in Temasek Polytechnic. The design brief asked us to come up with an extraordinary 12-month calendar and to propose creative themes, topics or ideas to frame the approach of the design and content. I came up with this concept for PromPeru and Marca Peru, the Peruvian tourism agency, where I designed a storybook based calendar aimed at young adults who love to travel.

The calendar follows the story of Almudena, a 9-year-old girl, who gets bored one rainy evening and decides to look through boxes in her attic. In the attic, she finds a box full of snow globes from Peru and she gets whisked away into them, experiencing different cities each month. Almudena was based on my younger sister, whom I wanted to teach more about our home country since she was born in Singapore. Besides the calendar, I also came up with a fun card deck, bookmarks, a box inspired by an Ayacuchan Artesian piece and a GIF.
This is the box where everything comes together. It is inspired by altarpieces from the Ayacucho region in Peru.
The Peru Fun Card Pack includes fun facts about Peru, a fun dictionary that teaches you Peruvian slang words and a childhood game named 'Tutti Frutti'.
These are the bookmarks that also come with the set, inspired by Peruvian motifs and textiles.
This is the final product of the calendar, photographing my favorite spread. Below are a few spreads of the calendar/storybook that I really like as well.
Finally, my last deliverable for this assignment was a gif that would be played in the Prom Peru Instagram page and be shown as an ad, to reach a wider and younger audience.
That's all for this design concept!
I hope you guys like it! If you do, don't be afraid to appreciate it or comment something! (:
