The concept for this project is based on a paradigm. A paradigm is an assumed thought of a particular thing or idea, which can be good or bad. In terms of design, we as designers want it to be a positive association. ProStop is a new concept that is planning to revolutionize an element of highway travel for the better.
Highway rest areas, for many decades, have obtained the reputation as an unsafe and unwelcoming environment. It is a place where people stop only if extremely necessary. This new design experience will turn the negative perceptions on its head. The project focuses on three key factors: Health, Safety and Community. Overall, Pro Stop will exemplify a design which will be both comfortable and refreshing, by using natural architectural elements that ground the space Into a functional facility that will create a paradigm shift in domestic highway travel.
