《 CRY LIKE A WILD GIPSY 》

The idea of the popular artists is to portray their customs, freely, of what their eyes capture and the imagination creates. What pleases me most in this type of art is because it is intuitive and deals with local, regional values; represent beliefs, legends, customs typical of a given culture.
The theme for the project was "launched": popular art. It was now necessary to look for the place of the world that would inspire me. Once I wanted something bolder, it was an immediate choice. Mexican folk art brings colorful and lively images created for festivals and religious ceremonies. In addition, it is a culture that gives a lot of attention to the beauty and magic of the natural world.

After having the final drawing it is time to choose the matrix. The matrix of this design was a pine wood base, size A5. Because it is pine, the work is facilitated by being a softer material.
After the surface imperfections are eliminated, the wood is ready to receive the drawing. The tools used were: gouges and bisturi.
The care at this stage is to remember that the depth is directly attached to the print: if you do not remove enough of it, if you put the ink in the wood, you run the risk of printing an unwanted area.

For the prints, I was searching for strong colors and the mixture between the oils of the figure and the watercolors of the background.
