These are some of the 100 schools being built within China by the Yanai foundation. The project part funded by local government and by a private Hong Kong donor, aims to provide children from rural communities the resources and facilities to form the backbone of a Chinese state education. 

The scope of the project has enabled the schools to be developed through multiple generations, each one attempting to improve on the previous, in hard to manage, budget driven areas with very basic standards of construction.

I've been following the development of these schools on behalf of the Yanai Foundation since mid 2012 when the third generation of six had just been completed.

These photos are to become a book to be produced later in the year.
