These posters are actually remakes of some of the earliest work I created in Adobe Illustrator.  I didn’t have a very good handle on the software yet, and was using my as of rudimentary skills to try and capture these ideas into colors and shapes, on the screen.

 

Two years later, with the entire toolbox of Illustrator at my command, I remade them as I originally intended, but to a much clearer success. They act as early pieces of set of video game inspired minimalist art. The concept was to create impressive, iconic imagery using very simplified colors and shapes.

I tried to capture the awe I had when I first played this 8-bit adventure, spending hours catching virtual monsters. The mystery of the great unknown awaiting you to explore it.
