This project focused on the history behind Armley Mills, Leeds. Armley was once the largest mills in the world and I was facinated when I discovered all sorts of information about the workers. I was amazed that young children were forced to work here in very dangerous conditions. My work depicts two resin casts of adult shoes, with real shoe laces interwined, placed underneath a machine, to represent the presence of the workers.

This piece is still available for viewing at Armley Mills, take a visit!
