The name of exhibition " August’s Rooms"
" I practice or more willingly surrender to this wonderful confusion of senses, without prejudice to the sacredness of the unknown. Reason is not enough, and human thought is not only partial. So the door must be opened whenever a thing sounds on the imagination, even if it is necessary to reach the hallucination. " - Carlos Fuentes

“So I imagined my house. The clock struck one at night, or maybe day In an unlimited and undefined world, perhaps things are bigger and others smaller
I do not know how much I realize it or its perception of me ... but I just imagine it Full of infinite forms and puzzles, which excite my inner self, to deal with my outer world.. I wonder .. Is it real?
I serve my plates for guests who insist on seeing me. They whisper ... I hear their voices in a faint disturbance
Did they understand themselves as I did? Or maybe i put it on a wall and manipulated its composition to create a new one!
A new self that deals well with the dishes that I see and do not see…
A new self that my cups can quench its thirst for it won’t quench mine…
Only the seats that hug me…”

In a journey to reveal the manifold layers of our unconscious mind and the exotic realms that rest undisturbed in hidden rooms, unfamiliar to our conscience mind, both artists were inspired by the work of the schizophrenic German artist, August Natterer, in which his drawings are attempts to capture the "10,000 images" of his April Fool's Day hallucination, and are always rendered in a clear, objective style, like that of a technical drawing. Nattere’s “Art of schizophrenia” was one of the first attempts to present the unorthodox world of the human psyche.

The work of  Nesreen Mamdouh examines the broader image of the mind, eliminating the limitations of reason through different mediums.
This collaborative art exhibition presents a creative outgrowth of a prolonged exploration of the embodiment of the hallucinatory state in its various forms throughout the history of art movements, going from August’s Schizophrenic art to Surrealism and Psychedelic art.

“August’s Rooms” opens the gate to the limbo of the human mind...
