When we are young, the world around us seems so bright and colorful. Every little thing holds a deep sense of wonder, just waiting to be discovered. But what can make this wonderful picture lose all this brightness and color?
What can make a child feel all alone and forgotten?
What can paint dark the years that are supposed to be light and safe?
These pictures are united by one motif- the modern Russian childhood. The child is surrounded by anthill buildings and colorful playgrounds. Also shown in the pictures is the father’s role, sometimes vacant. Many children are raised without dads because they are dead or gone- his face blurred and lost. In a modern world, parents are busy with their personal life and career. They leave the child’s upbringing to the colorful playground, and naively think it’s enough to paint a happy childhood.
But, they forget to paint themselves in the picture.
