Gustavo Cerati was the lead singer and guitarist of Soda Stereo, one of the most iconic rock bands from Latin America. In 1989, Cerati became the top rock star in the region. But his life was in crisis: his marriage was failing and he was feeling consumed by the rhythm of the tour life. His medicine was to return to live at his parents’ home for a while. Though these books Cerati talks about how going back home to live with his parents recovered him from a very deep depression and from drowning into an exhausting life.

The images inside the O’s show the things that helped Cerati overcome the depression he was suffering from. For example his parents, going back to his childhood home, his band mates, and his love for music. All colors used throughout this project have a reason to be. Red is associated with danger, Cerati’s life was in state of emergency that’s why the first book is red. The second book is a tone of pink because this color represents weakness, and that’s how Cerati was feeling when he was in the process of recovering. And the yellow on the third book stands for the energy and positivism that Cerati was feeling after recovering from the depression and going back on tour.
