SkinCarisma Branding & UX/UI

SkinCarisma Branding & UX
I designed a new logo and brand guidelines, including selecting a new web-safe typeface. I also designed concepts for new features, including an e-commerce portal, gradient slider filters, wishlist feature, blog design, and quirky tooltips.

SkinCarisma is a knowledgebase and educational hub for skincare ingredients. I was commissioned to rethink the product design, UX, visuals, and brand design.

At top, the progression of the logomark to an abstract representation of the acid mantle skin layer. Wordmark and headline typeface is set in Work Sans and body copy is in Muli. Color palette was selected to connote ingredient safety from EWG and CIR databases. The safety rating shows up on product pages, illustrating how many component ingredients fall into each respective category.

SkinCarisma's unique value proposition was the combination of skincare databases to generate cosmetic functions and classification of properties for each ingredient (ex. good for acne prone skin, good for dry skin, etc.)

As part of the branding process, I created a prototype for a radical futuristic view of the product function and look & feel. I also wrote copy for a landing page prototype.

I created a functional prototype (including search, add to cart, and FTUX signup flow) using Marvel. See video below:
