Footy Tipping has moved from print to digital and I wanted to celebrate it's historically tactile past. Inspired by print paraphernalia of a bygone era, I wanted to evoke a sense of nostalgia and fun into doing the weekly tips. The sense of permanence when filling in tips on a printed booklet makes the stakes higher compared to doing it digitally and results in a much more thrilling and engaging experience.

The typeface selection reflects this as I selected a hybrid modern interpretation of Windsor and Souvenir to create a sense of familiarity. This was paired with a sans with strange proportions that reflected hand painted scoreboards. Together this created a feeling of nostalgic footy within a modern context.
