about
As unused land is becoming increasingly more difficult to find in urban areas, structures that span and share space with forms of infrastructure including highway and train lines will become more common. This project in particular takes advantage of the underutilized space located over an expressway and rapid transit line.

The project contains 200,000 SF that includes retail space, a conference center, office space, residential units and a rooftop park over an enclosed parking structure. The site selected is situated over the Eisenhower Expressway adjacent to the Loomis Street overpass with the UIC campus to the east and the medical district to the west. Transit access was a priority in site selection. An existing entry point to the Racine Blue Line Station was incorporated into the design.
