Air New Zealand Inflight Entertainment Interactive Interface

Working in teams of two, you will design an Air New Zealand inflight entertainment
interactive interface, presented as a design proposal. It will be dedicated to one media
stream with a focus on content choreography and user interface animation.

Just like any project we started off with a rough brainstorm of the potential screens as well as the beginning stages of generating ideas. My partner and I decided that our design was going to be targeted at frequent flyers of Air New Zealand. Hence we created a specific persona we would base our designs on, called Sarah aged 30, who would be travelling with her best friend from Singapore to Auckland on economy class. She has some dietary requirements which would be considered in terms of the food and drinks order option and concepts within our design.

With our persona in mind, we created really rough potential screens of what the interface would contain. The screens gave us an idea of what categories, information and content we could include in our designs. It was particularly helpful as it makes us become more aware of our users’ goals and the pathways they would take when using the in-flight food ordering system. It was also important to keep in mind what aspects we want to be included in our final video.
