Clear wanted to recap the most exciting moments of the 2018 World Cup on their social media. Vault49 was tasked with creating a 10 second cel animation for every day that there was a match (weekends included!). We had 3 hours after the last match of the day to illustrate 60 frames so that these animations could be posted before the start of the next day's tournament. To add to the challenge, I had a rotating team of designers which meant we needed to figure out how all work in a consistent style. I worked with the creative team in developing a style that could be easily animated yet still capture the excitement of the moment. Our amazing team nailed each daily animation within our allotted time frame. Moreover, I was also one of the illustrators and learned how to use Adobe After Effects to pull this all together.
