Gay pride often caters to the stereotypes of gay culture. The buff guys in speedos, the butch lesbians riding motorcycles, the flamboyant twinks running around one-size-too-small t-shirts, the drag queens blinded with mascara. And while it's fine if you do fit these stereotypes, a lot of people don't, and often these people don't feel included in gay culture, or reject it because of the connotations associated.
