This fire place surround I demoed, poured 2" concrete hearth. Then framed and wraped in one inch dura rock, (a concrete/ fire rated board) then tiled. Mantel was made from a 4" x 10" doug fur beam and sand blasted.

Simple Contemporary.

Mantel was sand blasted, then sealed with yellow/ orange tint sealer. Knots and raised wood grain where highlighted with black paint to give it an antique appearance.

Mantel and legs are made from Maple wood and finished with a cherry high gloss finsh. Hard to see but legs are fluted. Mantel has a dental trim, that I had to custom make to match entertainment center. (just to the left of picture).
