Folio Society has set a competition to illustrate a narrative of the novel 'The Heart of Darkness' this is my interpretation of the three chapters in the book i have chosen to illustrate it using the technique of Linocut
Image one from Chapter one as they are on their voyage down the congo river
image 2 from chapter 2: about the natives
image 3 from chapter 3- natives heads were on picks outside of the stations. i have depicted them as masks. it is clearly the natives heads on the sticks and not the voyagers
