HomeSense New Ad Campaign

A ad campaign designed for Homesense. Explanations at the bottom. The first ad is a bus ad, the second is a sidebar ad and the last is a leaderboard ad.
OBJECTIVE
This design campaign plays into the unique selling point of HomeSense. “Designer & Affordable” tells the consumer that they can make their home look designer with designer-looking products but without the frivolous designer prices. HomeSense’s prices are always sensible and are never as absurd as a designers price.
THEME
The theme of the campaign is more humorous than it isn’t, with its absurd undertones of how expensive a decoration for your home could be and believe that people would actually pay such a high price just for a designer name.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience for this campaign is for mainly women who are redecorating their homes. A more focused look at the target audience shows that the campaign if for consumers who want designer quality and looks in the products that they buy to decorate their homes.
COLOUR SCHEME
The goal of the campaign was not to be flashy but to be “designer” and attractive which lent well into having a simplistic colour scheme. The use of such a simple colour scheme keeps the consumers focus on the product itself. With a white background and mild shading on the bottom added just enough depth that it gives the viewer the ability to picture the item depicted in the ad, in their home. The only real source of colour is the red of the HomeSense logo and the HomeSense Red strip that is on the tag that is used to keep the ad on brand and recognizably HomeSense.
FONTS
The only font used in the ads is Adobe Caslon Pro. This font was picked because it was a simple yet sharp serif font. A serif font was a good pick for this ad campaign because in my research I found that serif fonts convey elegance and rationality, which are both positive feelings that a HomeSense product and price should have. The font choice was also meant to not detract from the rest of the ad but to become a cohesive part of it.
