Guija Wasi was the made-up Peruvian restaurant that I made for my Explorative Illustration class in Year 2. We had to find a problem and come up with a concept to solve it. My problem was that there is not an affordable and authentic Peruvian restaurant here in Singapore that would attract the youth to come down and enjoy the cuisine. Here is where I came up with the restaurant: Guija Wasi. Guija comes from my maternal last name and it is pronounced 'Gi-ha'. Wasi means 'house' in Quechua, the language spoken in the Andean mountains/region. For this concept design, I came up with 4 deliverables: the logo, the menu, the mural, and the GIF.
