TIMES RUNNING OUT
During my years at IT-Gymnasiet I have developed a great interest in creating digital compositions in the program Adobe Photoshop. I knew quickly that I wanted to do a digital composition in the program Adobe Photoshop CC 2019. The project is inspired from an earlier project that we did during our first year. “Save the ocean”, by the Perfect World Foundation.
During my work I used multiple layer-masks to finish the product. Some of the things I learned throughout this project was, how to use the copy-stamp and the patch tool. The end result of the project was a large detailed print on a canvas with the measurement 90 x 120 cm.
This project reflect many parts of my education. Not only the work in Photoshop, but also research, planning and design theory. Such as colour theory and composition theory, a bit of the golden section. The courses that this project include is, Digitalt skapande 1, Estetisk Kommunikation, Fotografisk Bild 1, Grafisk kommunikation and Digitalt skapande 2.
The purpose of the composition is to enlighten people of what awaits us if we do not change some of our ways. Most motifs in the composition can have double meaning. The waterfall and the ocean represent not only that the water levels are slowly rising because of global warming but also that most of us take things for granted and discard others. The glass and the mountain serves as a representation of how the landmass is shrinking and that humans and animals both are losing ground. It also serves as a visual hierky of how things currently are in the world.
