EUMETSAT Recruitment Campaign
Improving the recruitment experience
The Challenge: EUMETSAT had an ageing workforce, with many employees working for the company since its early beginnings coming to retirement age. At the same time, the recruitment tools and documentation was old-fashioned and not appealing to the recruitment market. Vacancies were difficult to read and understand and the material did not reflect the experience of working for such an organisation.

The solution: We interviewed people from all areas of the company (administration, science, engineering, etc.) to find out why they love to work in EUMETSAT and to try and find a common reasons. Regardless of the area they worked in, all staff were proud to work for an organisation that makes a considerable difference in people's lives. This allowed us to come up with the headline: From here. You can make a world of difference.

In addition, we developed a campaign that not only highlighted the diversity of employees across many areas of the company, but we made sure to use photos of real people working in EUMETSAT to ensure its authenticity. We also reviewed the content/presentation of information in advertising and in the vacancy notice documents to bring the main information to the fore, and to remove information that is not necessary to present up front.
Job advertising and vacancy notices were simplified, presenting the main information upfront and using icons and simple text to improve the legibility of information.
A series of videos were created to promote working at EUMETSAT on social media channels.
A new set of exhibition material was created, with roll-up panels for each job area, which helped to customise the information displayed for different audiences/exhibitions.
A selection of items were created to extend the experience beyond recruitment, making employees feel welcome on their first day in the office.
