A Absolut lançou um concurso ("Absolut Creative Competition") cujo objetivo era criar uma ilustração tendo como base a figura icónica das suas garrafas, e abordando um tema relacionado com os direitos humanos e a igualdade de género.
No ano de 1968, o movimento trabalhista e o movimento dos direitos civis reuniram-se numa manifestação pelos direitos civis dos funcionários públicos. No dia 11 de fevereiro em Memphis, Tennessee, mais de 1300 trabalhadores afro-americanos manifestaram-se exigindo os seus direitos básicos de organizar um sindicato, ter um salário justo e respeito pela dignidade das mulheres e dos trabalhadores. Estes trabalhadores utilizaram cartazes que diziam: “I am a man”. Assim, estendi o sentido desta afirmação para “I am human” de forma a enfatizar o facto de, apesar de virmos de lugares diferentes e de culturas distintas, somos todos humanos. As figuras que rodeiam a garrafa desfrutam da sua diversidade e celebram a mesma.

On Feb. 11 in Memphis, Tennessee, more than 1,300 African-American workers spoke out demanding their basic rights to organize a union, earn a fair wage, and respect for the dignity of women and workers. These workers used posters that said, "I am a man." So I extended the meaning of this statement to "I am human" in order to emphasize the fact that, although we come from different places and different cultures, we are all human. The figures that surround the bottle enjoy their diversity and celebrate it.
