This illustration series was created for an on-going Tel-Aviv exhibition – "La Culture". Each call for submissions at "La Culture" is based on a unique theme. The theme that inspired this series was called "Gods". My first association was musical - a famous song "God is a DJ". As I kept brainstorming, I remembered an old joke (I'll do my best retelling it here): in a crowded space a person gets sick. Her friend yells out: "Is there a medical professional? Any doctors here?" The people in the crowd respond: "No, but I am a DJ", "And I am a photographer", "Well, really I am a designer."
I continued turning this joke around in my head and that's how my contemporary Gods were born: a DJ, a photographer and a designer. While researching this project I got inspiration from mythologies all over the world: in particular from African Gods, and Maya cosmology. The project was created in my favorite vector line technique. The prints were exhibited at 30 X 40 cm.
