Do Not Touch
Do Not Touch is an interactive sound and light installation which allows users to create music with their hand gestures, similar to a conductor of an orchestra. As the name implies their is no physical contact with the piece. The user’s presence is detected by their proximity which activates the device. When a pad is activated a musical note plays and the LED matrix illuminates. In this way it is possible to compose music through gestures.
Three pads were developed as a prototype. The final piece would comprise of eight pads, each of which would play a different note of the musical scale, DO, RA, MI, FA, SO, LA, TI, DO.
