TSU! is the latest solo project of James Hakan Dedeoglu. Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, Hakan has been writing and performing music since 1998. Hakan is also a member of alternative rock band Ricochet and psychedelic pop duo OAK. Formed in 1999 Ricochet, released their first official album The Burning One in 2010 from Peyote Records. OAK, on the other hand has been Hakan’s long time solo project with it’s changing line-up. First starting off solo, than turning into 3 piece live band in 2008. Later the band expanded and became a 5 piece. Soon OAK went through another change and finally settled as a duo, with Ekin Sanaç from Kim Ki O. OAK has self released 2 albums, New Born (2007) and Hey Five (2010). In 2011 Hakan started his new solo acoustic project TSU!, focusing on atmospheric and folky instrumental songs. Drawing his influences form the names like Six Organs of Admittance, John Fahey, Luiz Bonfa, Sir Richard Bishop, James Blackshaw and Tara Jane O’Neil. TSU!’s first album, was recorded in January 2012. Most of the songs on the album were recorded live by Carla Bozulich and John Eischenseer.
